2019: APC youths tackle Galadima-led R-APC
The youth caucus of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has berated a faction of the party being led by one of the President Muhammadu Buhari’s allies.
The youth also pledged their support and allegiance to President Buhari’s present government and his second term bid.
The group tagged “Reformed APC” had last Wednesday announced its formation and members of executive nationwide at a news conference in Abuja, where it accused President Buhari of incompetence.
But the youth caucus, which disagreed with Buba Galadima-led R-APC said at a press briefing on Sunday that the breakaway faction of the party “is a mere storm in a tea cup that would make no difference to the electoral fortunes of President Buhari.”
The spokesperson of the caucus, Chuks Nwanodu, who addressed journalists during the briefing stressed that President Muhammadu Buhari has done more for Nigerians in terms of greatness and development in three years than what PDP-led government did in the last sixteen years.
He added that the achievements of President Buhari in the areas of his three points agenda of tackling corruption, insecurity and economic development was unparalleled in the country.
Nwanodu noted that the party will concentrate more on the achievements of the President rather than be distracted by the “disgruntled elements in the party.”
“The breakaway faction led by Buba Galadima has no capacity to make any meaningful difference in the emergent political configuration, neither do they have any goodwill of Nigerians,” urging Nigerians to disregard them.
“They are just disgruntled by the new changes.”
“We are confident in the ability of Oshiomhole and the President to lead the APC to a good outing in 2019,” he said.
