Army launches ‘Operation Python Dance’ in Borno, Yobe
The Acting General Officer Commanding of 7 Division, Nigerian Army, Brig-Gen. Abdulmalik Biu has flagged off Python Dance III to provide adequate security for the conduct of 2019 General elections.
According to him, the python dance, is the resolve of Army to conduct coordinated joint operations with other security agencies in Borno and Yobe states.
“We resolved to conduct joint operations in collaboration with other security and para military agencies in aid to civil authority,” said Biu on Monday, who represented Chief of Army Staff, Lt-Gen. Tukur Buratai at step up Army headquarters, Cashew plantation, Maiduguri.

He said python dance operation was designed to sustain the fight against Boko Haram insurgency and the elimination of criminals hiding under Boko Haram in Borno and Yobe states.
He added that the pythons are everywhere dancing to swallow suspected criminals in the Northeast.
“If you remain peaceful, the python will continue to fast without devouring any suspected criminals or miscreants that cause insecurity
to lives and property,” he said.
He said the momentum of the operation must be sustained to ensure hitch free general elections.
“Do not provide any opportunity for criminal elements to infiltrate your ranks,” he warned.
