How JTF killed 15 Boko Haram terrorists in Borno
Troops of 7 Brigade, sector three of Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF) has killed 15 Boko Haram terrorists at Arege, during a military clearance operation in Borno state.
The MNJTF comprises four Armed Forces of Chad, Cameroon, Niger and Nigeria to get rid of remnants of Boko Haram insurgents in the Lake Chad Basin and Islands.
Director Army Public Relations, Brig-Gen. Texas Chukwu in a statement released in Maiduguri said the operations, which lasted for over three hours, forced some insurgents to flee into the bush with gunshot wounds.
According to him, efforts are being intensified by troops to arrests the fleeing Boko Haram suspects.
He further disclosed that troops also recovered five AK-47 rifles, an anti-aircraft gun and a light machine gun.
“Unfortunately, one soldier was injured and is currently receiving attention at the military medical facility,” said Chukwu in the statement.
He urged member of the public to report any suspicious activities to law enforcement agencies for prompt action.
