Governors elected on the platform of All Progressives Congress (APC) are currently in crucial meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari.
The meeting, which began at about 2:20pm, is holding inside the Council chamber of the Presidential Villa, Abuja, and the agenda of the meeting was not made public.
But a source who confided in our correspondent said the meeting was not unconnected with the President’s decision about tenure elongation for Oyegun-led NWC and other state party executive members.
It would be recalled that Buhari had last week communicated his stance on the illegality of tenure elongation for members NWC.
The source said, “Presently, APC governors are divided into two factions following Mr President’s decision at the last NEC meeting.
“While a group had a change of heart and agreed with the president, many governors still feel that it is safer for the APC to allow current officials oversee the elections,” he said.
