Troops of Operation Whirl Stroke have arrested eight bandits on Sunday
night’s operations in Ussa council area of Taraba state.
The arrested bandits are suspected to be killer herdsmen allegedly
operating in Taraba and Adamawa states in Northeast.
Deputy Director of Army Public Relations, Col. Kayode Ogunsanya in a
statement released Monday in Maiduguri, said: “Troops while on patrol
on Sunday night came in contact with armed bandits along Manya-Gangun
road in Ussa Local Government Area of Taraba State.
“Eight suspected armed bandits were arrested in the operational patrols.”
On recovered arms and ammunition, Ogunsanya in the statement said:
“They include, two AK-47 rifles, a K2 rifle, two Dane guns, 56 rounds
