Nigerian Air Force launches ‘Operation Thunder Strike’ in North-East

Following incessant Boko Haram attacks in North East, the Air Task Force has commenced the conduct of Operation THUNDER STRIKE.

Director of Public Relations and Information,¬†Nigerian Air Force, Air Vice Marshal¬†Olatokunbo Adesanya told newsmen that the Operation is an independent Air Interdiction by the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) to attack selected Boko Haram terrorists’ locations in the Northeast.

He added that the operation is necessary because the place is currently inaccessible to own troops on account of the onset of the rainy season.

“Several targets have already been successfully acquired with encouraging results,” he said.

NAF spokesman further disclosed that the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, is currently in Maiduguri to enable him have firsthand information on the operation, which is still ongoing.
